What areas do you serve?
We're based in Grand Junction and serve homes and small businesses across the Grand Valley and the Western Slope of Colorado. There's no trip charge for on-site service within the City of Grand Junction, Orchard Mesa, Fruitvale, or Clifton. Outside those areas, a trip charge may apply.
How much does computer repair or IT support cost?
Labor is billed hourly. Home users pay $85/hr for remote or in-shop work and $105/hr on-site. Small businesses pay $105/hr remote or in-shop, $125/hr on-site, and $150/hr for Tier 3 work like servers and advanced networking. Common jobs have flat rates, such as an OS re-install for $85 and an HDD to SSD upgrade for $100 plus parts. See our pricing page for the full list.
Will I know the cost before you start?
Yes. We'll always tell you what we expect a job to run before we start. If a job is hard to size up until we see it, we'll give you a straight estimate before any work begins.
Do you work with home users, or only businesses?
Both. We help home users with repairs, upgrades, custom PCs, and home networks, and we support small businesses with managed IT, networking, cybersecurity, and backups. Home and business work each have their own rates.
Do you offer remote, in-shop, and on-site support?
Yes. Many problems can be fixed remotely or in our shop, and we come to you when the job needs hands on site, like network installs, cabling, or business equipment.
Can you build a custom gaming PC?
Yes. We build gaming rigs, home office workstations, and budget builds with hand-picked parts, fully assembled and configured locally. You can see some recent builds on our portfolio page.
My computer is slow. Can you speed it up?
Usually, yes. Swapping an old hard drive for an SSD is one of the biggest upgrades you can make. Our HDD to SSD upgrade is $100 plus parts and includes cloning your data to the new drive. We also add RAM, remove malware, and bring older machines back to life.
How do I safely get rid of an old computer?
Bring it to us. e-Waste recycling is free with drop-off (TVs excluded), and pickup is available by estimate. If you'd like the drives wiped first, that's free too when you drop off a computer for recycling. For extra peace of mind, we can physically destroy each drive for $15 per drive, certificate of destruction included.
How do you destroy the data on old drives?
We offer two levels. Data wiping uses a multi-pass overwrite following the DoD 5220.22-M method, and it's free when you drop off a computer for recycling or with any paid service. Physical data destruction is $15 per drive: the drive is wiped the same way, then physically destroyed, and you get a certificate of destruction for your records. Wiping and then destroying covers traditional hard drives and SSDs alike.
Do you set up networks for small businesses?
Yes. We install and manage business Wi-Fi, routers, switches, security cameras, and structured cabling, and we set up POS systems, shared printers, and cloud tools. As a Lenovo Pro partner, we can also supply business computers at fair prices.

Yes. Monument IT is veteran-owned and operated, and locally owned in Grand Junction, Colorado. You work directly with us, not a call center.
